A biomass CHP allows by cogeneration an environmentally friendly and almost CO2-neutral heat and power generation. The production of electrical energy using renewable energy sources such as biomass is a declared environmental and in terms of energy policy objective of the governments of the European Union.
Subject to the energy feed-in law and biomass regulation of the Federal Republic of Germany the feed-in rates are defined according to the power levels up to 0.5 MW, 5 MW and 20 MW electric power.
